SGM Prime Onyx Quantum — premium advanced vibration dampener with thickened 120 µm aluminum foil. The updated formulation of butyl rubber mastic retains its elasticity and damping properties across an extended temperature range from –40°C to +140°C, offering enhanced adhesion to metal. The mounting side is protected by silicone-coated paper.
In the updated at the beginning of 2026 version of the material, the adhesive composition has been improved: increased adhesion ensures instant bonding and reliable fixation without preheating. The adhesive upgrade has made it “smart”: the “smart” adhesion of SGM Prime materials allows for adjustments during installation, with adhesion increasing by 25% within 15–20 minutes and by 60–80% or more after 24 hours.
The material features a matte satin aluminum foil treated with «Prime Satin» technology. This technology creates a developed micro-rough surface structure, providing a mechanical bonding effect with the mastic. This significantly enhances interlayer adhesion strength and completely eliminates the risk of dust or moisture penetrating between the second layer of sound absorber and the foil of the primary damping layer.
The material now features a new design and new packaging.
With a thickness of 3.1 mm and a high loss factor (0.49), Onyx Quantum is the ideal solution for comprehensive treatment of areas with maximum vibration loads: floors, trunks, wheel arches, and engine shields. The increased thickness of the material delivers maximum vibration damping when applied over large areas, creating a unified damping barrier. Enhanced adhesion ensures reliable bonding to the vehicle body even on complex surfaces, significantly simplifying the installation process.
