SGM Base (1.7 mm) is a vibration-damping material based on a classic bitumen mastic combined with 60-micron-thick aluminum foil. It provides foundational protection for the vehicle body against vibrations and helps prevent corrosion on metal surfaces. SGM Base is resistant to a wide temperature range—from -40°C to +100°C—making it suitable for use in various climatic conditions. The inclusion of silicone-coated paper on the adhesive side significantly simplifies the installation process.

With an optimal thickness of 1.7 mm, the material is well-suited for effective performance in areas of the vehicle body subject to lower vibration loads, such as the doors, roof, trunk lid, and hood. SGM Base (1.7 mm) is easy to install; simply roll the material firmly onto the surface using an installation roller to ensure a secure bond.

During use, the material should be kept away from components that reach high temperatures, such as the engine, exhaust manifolds, and the exhaust system.
