The SGM Armor 4 mm is an ultra-rigid, frame-reinforced vibration damper from the SPL series, featuring a 90-micron aluminum foil. It is based on a high-strength bitumen-polymer mastic engineered to withstand extreme acoustic loads. Thanks to its increased mechanical loss factor, it effectively suppresses the propagation of destructive vibrations through the vehicle’s body and minimizes residual structural noise.

During installation, SGM Armor forms a sealed bond with the metal, creating a moisture- and air-tight barrier that provides additional corrosion protection. The adhesive layer is protected by a siliconized release film, which safeguards it from damage and contamination until application.

Recommended for all high-sound-pressure areas, its reduced 4 mm profile makes it ideal for confined spaces where a thicker material cannot fit, such as doors, trunk lids, and engine compartment bulkheads. For maximum effectiveness, heat the material to at least 60°C during installation and press it firmly onto the surface with an application roller. This process ensures optimal adhesion and peak vibration-damping performance.

Using this material increases the sound pressure level (SPL) inside the vehicle cabin by enhancing the structural rigidity of the car body.
